Congress probably will have to settle for a shorter, less costly reauthorization of the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) than the five-year expansion Democrats are seeking, according to a former top official.
GOP Amendments May Smooth SCHIP's Way, Grassley Says
The top Republican on the Senate Finance Committee said Tuesday that the ability to offer GOP amendments, both related and unrelated to children’s health insurance, may ease the way for Senate consideration of legislation to expand the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP).
