House Legislation: First 100 Hours Alternatives

Minimum Wage

H.R. 239 - Rep. Heather Wilson [R-NM] - To increase the Federal minimum wage and to provide an alternative minimum wage as an incentive to an employer to provide health care and child care benefits.

H.R. 324 - Rep. Howard McKeon [R-CA] - To increase the minimum wage, to provide access to health care coverage to employees of small businesses, and to preserve American jobs.

Stem Cell Research

H.R. 322 - Rep. Roscoe Bartlett [R-MD] - To derive human pluripotent stem cell lines using techniques that do not harm human embryos.

H.R. 457 - Rep. Ronald Paul [R-TX] - To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to provide credits against income tax for qualified stem cell research, the storage of qualified stem cells, and the donation of umbilical cord blood.

Medicare Part D

H.R. 118 - Rep. Jo Ann Davis [R-VA] - To amend part D of title XVIII of the Social Security Act to authorize the Secretary of Health and Human Services to negotiate prices for part D covered drugs for Medicare beneficiaries.

H.R. 470 - Rep. Heather Wilson [R-NM] - To amend titles XVIII and XIX of the Social Security Act to provide for continuity of Medicare prescription drug coverage for full-benefit dual eligible individuals, for Medicare prescription drug coverage of benzodiazepines and off-label uses of certain prescription drugs and biological products, for optional Medicaid coverage of Medicare prescription drug cost-sharing for full-benefit dual eligible individuals, and for authorization to the Secretary of Health and Human Services to waive certain determinations denying Medicare prescription drug coverage.

H.R. 193 - Rep. Ronald Paul [R-TX] - To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to make higher education more affordable by providing a full tax deduction for higher education expenses and interest on student loans
